Jean Pierre's journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to positively impacting individuals and communities. After tragically losing his parents at a young age, Jean Pierre was raised by his aunt. Despite the hardships of early loss, he was fortunate to be taken in by loving and responsible guardians who provided the care, support, and guidance he needed to overcome life’s challenges.

These formative experiences instilled in him a profound appreciation for the importance of family, mentorship, and the transformative power of a strong, nurturing environment. In 2023, Jean Pierre decided to give back to his community through the WIN TOGETHER CANADA FOUNDATION, focusing on empowering others, particularly youth, both emotionally and economically.

Diane Umutoni, Co-Founder & Executive Director

Diane Umutoni’s life is a story of unimaginable tragedy, unshakable resilience, and unwavering hope. 

​

Originally from Rwanda, at the age of nine, she survived the 1994 Rwandan Genocide—a traumatic event that claimed the lives of her family and stole her childhood. 

​

As a young girl, Diane witnessed unspeakable atrocities, seeing with her own eyes the brutal killings of her parents and sibling by machete. The pain of such a past could have consumed her, but Diane chose a different path. She found comfort in her faith in Almighty God, which gave her the strength to forgive. Rather than be defined by her suffering, she transformed her pain into a source of power, resilience, and hope.

In 2008, Diane embarked on a new chapter of her life, immigrating to Canada with a heart full of hope and a vision for a better future. Determined to rise above her past, she pursued higher education, earning a master’s degree in economics. Yet, not just academics fueled her; Diane’s true passion was to uplift those around her. She became deeply involved in building a strong, supportive community where individuals could come together, share their experiences, and offer one another strength.

Evelyne Haganje

Evelyne Haganje is a passionate advocate for well-being and community development with extensive experience in supporting children and young people. With a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of others, Evelyne has dedicated much of her career to creating positive change in the lives of children, particularly those with special needs.

Evelyne served as the Director of a children's nursery, where she was responsible for overseeing the care and development of young children. Additionally, Evelyne has worked closely with young preteens with special needs, providing tailored support to empower them in their personal growth and development.

​

Currently, Evelyne is a valued member of the Win Together Canada Foundation team, where she facilitates the G-Winners program. In this role, she works closely with participants, guiding them in building confidence, leadership skills, and resilience.
